KOGI: Gov calls for constitutional roles for traditional institution

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris has called for constitutional roles for the traditional institution as a means of strengthening democracy in the country.

Governor Idris made the call in a message to the installation of Kogi State Chairman of Local Government Service Commission, Mr. Dagana Ocheja as the Akomu Atta Igala by the Attah Igala, Alhaji Aliyu Obajeh in Idah Kogi State.

The Governor described traditional institution as a good source of mobilisation of the people at the grassroots level.

He renewed his resolve to continue to give priority to the welfare of royal fathers in the state while calling for their cooperation in maintaining law and order in their domain.

Performing the installation, the Attah Igala, Alhaji Aliyu Obaje described Mr Dagana Ocheja as a worthy son of Igala Land who had contributed to the development of the area.
