Motorists to be more conscious at Okene-Lokoja - Abaji Highway - FRSC

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has warned motorists to be more safety conscious as the Okene-Lokoja - Abaji Highway is now rated as one of the most accident prone in the country.

The Zonal Commander of the FRSC in charge of Zone Eight comprising Kwara, Ekiti and Kogi States, Adeniyi Adeleye, gave the warning during an inspection tour of the major road networks within the Zone.

The FRSC Zonal Commander said a special Command had been inaugurated in Okene as part of efforts to check the frequent road mishaps and increase public enlightenment of the road users.

 

Commander Adeleye also stated that the Corps had put in place measure to boost the morale of both regular and special Marshals to deal decisively against erring motorists.

Receiving the Zonal Commander, the Kogi State FRSC Sector Commander, Garuba Ibrahim said his Command would apply maximum sanction to any driver whose motoring habit pose danger to other road users.

 The Sector Commander called for the support of motorists and commuters towards reducing accidents on Federal Highways within the zone.
