Use Edo elections as standard for future polls, LP tells INEC

The Labour Party wants the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to use the Edo State governorship election as a standard for future polls.

The call is contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the Party’s National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja.

The communiqué presented by the National Vice President of Nigeria Labour Congress, Isa Aremu says the Labour Party acknowledges the commitment of INEC towards a free and fair election in the State.

The National Chairman of the Party, Dan Nwanyanwu said the National Executive Committee meeting offered members the opportunity to discuss issues of common interest.

In his remark, the Governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko said the people of the State were ready for the forthcoming governorship election.
