CBA: FRCN constitutes C’ttee on disaster management

The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, has constituted a disaster management committee to produce a disaster response preparedness strategy for the organization.

This follows the decision of Commonwealth Broadcasting Association which at its last conference in Brisbane, Australia urged media organizations to be prepared to perform their constitutional responsibilities even in times of disasters.

On the occasion in Abuja, the Director-General, Mallam Yusufu Nuhu, represented by Mallam Nuradeem Ahmad of Radio Nigeria's Abuja National Station, urged the Committee to work towards maintaining the flagship status of FRCN in Radio Broadcasting in Africa.

In a remark, the Chairman of the Committee and Director, Corporate Development and Communication of the FRCN, Mr. Ike Okere represented by Mr. Dominic Mokikan pledged the readiness of members to do their best to justify the confidence reposed in them.

Radio Nigeria correspondent reports that the twelve member committee comprises management staff drawn from the five National Stations and Headquarters of the Corporation.
