House of Representatives Committee on Information and National Orientation has called on the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria to intensify efforts at enlightening the people about activities of the three arms of Government.

The Chairman of the Committee, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Wadada made the call when he led members of the committee to the headquarters of FRCN in Radio House, as part of its oversight function.

He observed that Radio Nigeria has the means to mobilize the people at the grassroot for National Development.
 
In a remark, the Director General of FRCN, Mallam Yusuf Nuhu appealed for adequate funding of the Corporation to enable it discharge its functions effectively.

In his contribution, a member of the committee, Mr. Uzoma Ikemabonta called on Radio Nigeria to commence sensitization of the people especially at the grassroot on the forth coming general elections.
 
Also speaking, the Zonal Director FRCN Abuja National Station, Dr. Samson Shaibu appealed for more collaboration between the House and the Zonal Station for effective coverage of its activities.
